Chinese Herbs
Chinese herbs have been incorporated into people's diets for many thousands of years. The only difference between foods and the herbs is the taste. They have been classified according to taste. Sour, pungent, sweet, bitter, and salty. These represent the five element series: wood, fire, earth, metal, water; respectively. All the above taste extreme in comparison to regular foods, and thus they are classified as herbs rather than foods. As we grow older, our yin (nourishment of the body) and yang (body's energy) diminish. Chinese herbs are the only substance that can replenish the yin and yang. We take the patient's pulse, look at their tongue and prepare the herbal formula according to the yin - yang balance of the body. The patient has the option of either taking a powdered formula or to cook the raw herbs.
